Radical Root Beer Ribs

Tyler lives for the thrill of a great meal and one of his favorite dishes is ribs. Ribs need to be tender, succulent, meaty, and well-seasoned to meet Tyler’s standards. Having tried hundreds of rib recipes in the past, Tyler knows it's hard to find a great one. Great ribs start with a caramelized, flavorful and smoky meat. Tyler adds root beer to the marinade giving the ribs incredible flavor and the recipe Tyler’s signature Rad flair.

Ingredients:

  • 3 Full Racks of Baby Back (or Back) Ribs
  • ¼ Cup Onion Powder
  • ¼ Cup Garlic Powder
  • ¼ Cup Lawry’s Seasoning Salt
  • 1 Cup Kikkoman Soy Sauce
  • 2 Cans A&W Root Beer (any root beer will work)
  • Sweet Baby Ray’s Barbeque Sauce

Preparation:

Preheat oven to 325 degrees. Combine onion powder, garlic powder and Lawry’s seasoning salt. Season both sides of all three racks heavily and arrange side by side (meat side up) in roasting pan. Pour Kikkoman soy sauce evenly over ribs.  Cover ribs in water and add root beer. Place roasting pan on center rack in 325 degree oven for 4 hours. Drain ribs and cool. Place racks on cutting board and cut each in half. Wrap each half in foil and refrigerate overnight or freeze until ready to serve. Preheat grill to medium heat. Unwrap ribs from foil and grill meat side down until just warmed through. Flip over to bone side and baste with Sweet Baby Ray’s barbeque sauce for 3-4 minutes. Serve with side of Sweet Baby Ray’s barbeque sauce.
